11/12/2022 0 Comments Diy guitar pedalI don't care if it's the best sounding pedal on the planet - I just want it to be a positive learning experience and work when I'm done. I connected with the seller via email - seemed nice enough, but told me not to "over think it." I did my best but the pedal does not work so I'm viewing it as soldering practice and moving on.Ĭan anyone recommend a basic guitar pedal (fuzz preferably) that has very clear instructions for the first timer? When I mean clear instructions I'm hoping for something like this: All kits are 100 true bypass, and contain all necessary components. (I'll leave the seller's name out of this - not looking to get into an online argument.) The kit said it had clear instructions and was good for a beginner, so I thought I'd be all set.Ĭut to the chase, the directions were NOT very good, pics were blurry, and wiring instructions non-existent. Build Your Own Clone manufactures DIY kits based on classic vintage effects pedals. I thought a good first step would be to buy a simple DIY guitar pedal and did so online. Having ZERO experience at this sort of thing I've been reading about basic electronics, soldering etc. What I'd REALLY like to be able to do is build CAPI mic pres, but first things first. Gearslutz has really inspired me to try my hand at DIY electronics.
